Daniel Bennett
Daniel is an experienced strategic designer, registered landscape architect and urban designer with 20 years’ experience. Initially from Sydney, he relocated to Edinburgh before returning to Australia and since 2004 has worked on a wide range of projects in his adopted home of Adelaide in public and private practice.
His work is multi-award winning, and he has led and delivered a range of small to very large city-shaping projects, often in large and complex teams. His recent role as leader of Strategy and Design at the City of Adelaide re-established a strong civic and strategic design team for the City, shaping, designing and delivering strategies and projects, including the Adelaide Design Manual, the city’s new blueprint for streets and public spaces from ideas and initiatives through to construction.
He led, reformed and reshaped the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) in AILA’s 50th year as Director (2013-2017), Chair and President (2016-2017), and is the current State President of AILA’s South Australian chapter and national Chair of AILA’s Advocacy Committee.
