Jensen PLUS are seeking an experienced urban planner to lead statutory planning projects and contribute to a variety of creative and community-focused assignments.

About the Role

As a senior contributor within our team, you’ll:

  • Lead the preparation of planning reports, code amendments, and development applications, coordinating consultant inputs and navigating approvals confidently.
  • Be a proactive, organised project manager who enjoys managing multiple planning projects.
  • Lend your expertise to strategic planning and master planning work where needed.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively – through reports, presentations, and maps – to clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of statutory urban planning projects with enthusiasm, energy and accountability.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of technical knowledge, practical experience, and a collaborative mindset. You will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the South Australian planning system, either preparing or assessing development applications.
  • Accreditation as an Accredited Professional – Planning, and/or Registered Planner (RPIA).
  • Experience with Code Amendments / Development Plan Amendments (desirable).
  • The ability to work across disciplines and liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and your colleagues.
  • A commitment to professional quality, clear communication, and reliable outcomes.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work productively with a part-time schedule.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to work part-time three to four days per week (negotiable).
  • Ability to support and contribute to community and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Capacity to assist with tenders and fee proposals to a high standard.
  • Willingness to travel regionally or interstate when required.
  • Desire to stay up to date with planning and design trends, techniques and legislation.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of credentials.
  • Readiness to provide administrative support and complete tasks beyond core responsibilities when needed.
  • Willingness to take direction from senior staff and contribute positively to team culture.
