Moorundi Health Centre recognised at the 2026 South Australian Landscape Architecture Awards

We’re delighted to share that Moorundi Health Centre in Murray Bridge received a Regional Achievement Award at the 2026 AILA SA Landscape Architecture Awards.

Senior Landscape Architect Nina Phillips was pleased to accept the award at the AILA SA awards night held on 23rd September at Adelaide Zoo.

Jensen PLUS provided landscape architecture and planning services for the new development for Moorundi Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, working alongside Phillips/Pilkington Architects and the broader project team.

The Moorundi Health Centre brings together Ngarrindjeri health services within a welcoming, integrated facility designed around connections to culture, Country and community. The landscape was developed as an extension of the healthcare environment - creating outdoor spaces for gathering, waiting, consultation and healing. Native planting, locally propagated plants and culturally meaningful design elements establish a strong connection to place, while integrated artwork carries Ngarrindjeri stories and identity throughout the built form and landscape.

‘’This award is particularly meaningful because it recognises the impact landscape architecture can have in regional communities. Moorundi demonstrates how landscape can contribute to healthcare beyond the walls of a building – supporting wellbeing, cultural expression, belonging and connection to Country.’’ said Nina.

Jensen PLUS worked with the Ngarrindjeri community over several years as they sought to find a suitable location for the many health and community services they provide. The new facility brings multiple services and teams together in one location within a high-quality, purpose-built environment that supports integrated and holistic care.
