In March 2025, the Department of Regional New South Wales released the final Master Plan for the South Jerrabomberra Regional Job Precinct - to position this emerging precinct as a major employment and innovation hub for the capital region, specialising in manufacturing for aerospace and defence industries.
South Jerrabomberra has a fascinating planning history. Near Canberra and once part of early 20th-century visions for an expansive residential estate called “Environa”, the area is now poised for a very different kind of transformation. The master plan respects this past while shaping a future built around innovation, amenity, and sustainability.
Jensen PLUS had a key role in the multi-disciplinary team responsible for master planning the precinct, which spans 950 hectares adjacent to the ACT border. The plan sets out a framework for land use, infrastructure, transport, and urban design - supporting future jobs in advanced manufacturing, space, defence, cyber security and associated industries, along with housing, education, recreation and conservation areas.
